All children in Years 5 and 6 have the opportunity of experiencing a residential visit to the school camp, which is held in the local area. Children in Years 3 and 4 also have the opportunity to visit the site for a day trip and experience different activities as well as the wonderful area and atmosphere.

There are 3 camps and each camp lasts for 2 days with approximately 60 children per camp. Camp is run by Mr Peters and Mrs Lee with support from teaching staff, support staff and parent helpers. We are extremely grateful for the support of all our volunteers in not only the running of camp but with the setting up and taking down of all the tents and equipment. School Camp is a real community project and is great fun for all involved.

During camp children have the opportunity to take part in a variety of exciting and adventurous activities. The emphasis is very much on team work with children working in clans on different tasks. Activities are based on developing physical skills, problem solving and campfire cooking There is also an opportunity to create items such as jewellery, badges and headbands using tools and natural objects. Mrs Lee and Mr Peters use their Forest School training and outdoor learning experience to give the children an amazing and fun time. Camp would not be camp without a visit to ‘The Leisure Centre’ where lots of water games are on offer along with a fantastic water slide.

Children also get to help with the running of camp whilst they are there by undertaking ‘chores’ such as helping to serve food, wash up, collect firewood and water and generally keep the area tidy.

We are busy planning Camp 2025 already and hope to see you there!
