We keep everything as near navy blue as possible while allowing flexibility in style for practical purposes. We would appreciate your help in maintaining this standard and request that children take pride in their appearance and in being a member of our school.
Hadleigh Community Primary School has no statutory requirement for children to wear any branded items of clothing.
THE CLEAR NAMING OF ALL CLOTHING IS AN ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENT. Our lost property box can be found by the wall of the small hall.
Daily School Uniform
- Plain navy coloured jumper, sweatshirt or cardigan
- Plain navy, black or grey trousers
- Plain navy, black or grey knee length shorts
- Plain navy, black or grey knee length skirt, culottes or skorts
- Plain navy, black or grey knee length pinafore dress
- Plain blue or white polo shirt or shirt
- Plain white, back, navy or grey socks/tights
- Plain blue and white checked or striped summer dress
- Plain navy or school branded fleece (optional)
- Plain black flat or low-heeled sensible shoes, sandals with enclosed toes or trainers.
Sports Clothing
- Plain blue, green, red or yellow t-shirt or polo shirt, dependent upon which house they are in.
- Plain navy or black PE shorts or skorts
- Plain navy or black longer length cycling shorts
- Plain navy or black tracksuit, or jogging bottoms and sweatshirt (no hoodies)
- Trainers
Jewellery & Makeup
- No nail varnish is allowed to be worn in school
- No make up should be worn in school
- Earrings – Pupils with pierced ears are allowed to wear a small plain stud in the lobe of each ear.
- Watches – A wrist watch is allowed, but smart watches must only be used as watches and not for recording or communication.
- Hair – Long hair should be tied back during the day for health and safety reasons. There should be no extreme hairstyles or unnatural colours or combinations. The school reserves the right to make the final decision on what constitutes an extreme hairstyle.
Things to note:
- Shirts with decorations are not permitted.
- All sports clothing should be at school every day, in a bag (we sell strong bags for this purpose).
- For young children practical, comfortable clothes are advisable (velcro fastenings are very useful).
- A strong hanging loop in the neck of your child's top coat will help to keep it on the peg.

The School Uniform Shop is run by volunteers and is part of the Friends of HCPS Fundraising Committee.
There are two ways of ordering:

Deliveries can be made to school free of charge. They can be delivered to your home for an additional cost.
2) We are also able to take orders in school via email or private message on our social media accounts. Once we have confirmed availability of your goods we can take cash payments via your child.
Items of good quality second-hand uniform can be collected in exchange for a donation to FoHCPS – We only usually accept uniform with the HCPS logo Please bring any donated pre-loved items of uniform to the office once they have been washed and dried.
