BIKEABILITY TRAINING
During the May half term we are very pleased to be able to offer to all Year 5 and 6 children, the opportunity of completing their Level 1 and Level 2 Bikeability training. Training will be carried out by Suffolk County Council qualified instructors over two days. There are 12 spaces available and the sessions will take place on Tuesday 28th and Wednesday 29th May (weather dependent ie. snow/ice) at a cost of £20 total for the two days.
Children will need to arrive at school at 9.45am ready for a 10am start and will need to be collected at 3pm on both days.
The course consists of Level 1 and Level 2 and each child needs to reach the required standard before being able to move on to the next level. In the case of a child not passing Level 1, they will not be able to attend on the second day for Level 2 and unfortunately, we are unable to offer a refund for the second day.
All children will need to have a roadworthy bike and an undamaged cycling helmet in school whilst they are doing their training. Suitable clothing should be worn by your child. This should be comfortable with narrow bottomed trousers and trainers. Training may take place in wet weather so a waterproof coat/jacket may be advisable. Suffolk County Council provides high visibility waistcoats for all students which will be worn during the training and will be washed by the instructors before and after use. A packed lunch and drink will also be required. It is also suggested that children bring disposable tissues with them in case they are needed. These items should be packed in a small rucksack/backpack to avoid items getting lost.
