On Tuesday 8th October 2024, HCPS took a Year 5 and Year 6 team to compete in the Under 11’s Football Festival at Whitton Sports Centre. There were a total of 18 schools from across the Ipswich area that took part in the event. Hadleigh played matches against Whitehouse, St Mary’s Ipswich, Britannia, Shotley, Morland, Trimley St. Martin Broke Hall, St Matthew’s, St John’s, and Colneis. Both teams played some excellent football during the morning, with excellent attacking and defending skills.
Both teams managed to win their respective group, resulting in them taking part in the semi-finals! After drawing both these games, this was decided by a penalty shootout. Unfortunately, luck wasn’t on our side, resulting in the boys finishing third overall.
Well done for proudly representing HCPS, and for showing an outstanding attitude and resilience, particularly in the penalty shootout.
