Under 10's Boys Football
On Tuesday 6th October 2026, HCPS took a Year 5 boys football team to the Under 11’s Football development festival at Inspire Suffolk, Ipswich. There were a total of 16 schools from across the Ipswich area that took part in the event. Hadleigh played in a group with The Oakes, St. Mark's, Gorseland, Heath, St. Pancras, Bramford and Cliff Lane.
The team played some excellent football during the morning, with excellent attacking and defending skills.
Some excellent results, with the team winning 5 and drawing 1 of their matches.
Well done for proudly representing HCPS, and for showing an outstanding attitude and resilience.
Under 11's Multi-Skills Festival
On Friday 2nd October, we took 25 pupils from Year 5 to participate in the Hadleigh Pyramid Schools Under 11’s Multi-Skills Festival at Hadleigh High School. Within this festival, the children took part in 8 different events. All the children had a great time and thoroughly enjoyed their morning.
Well done to 3 of our pupils, who were in the winning team. The teams were mixed between all the local Pyramid Schools, and everyone received participation certificates. Thanks to Hadleigh High School for arranging this fantastic event!
Year 5 Tag Rugby
On Wednesday 23rd September, HCPS took all of Year 5 to take part in an inter-year group Tag Rugby festival at Hadleigh Rugby Club.
The pupils were put into 12 teams of 6, playing many matches throughout the afternoon.
Much fun, dodging, weaving, tagging, scoring tries and working as part of a team took place during the afternoon.
Thank you to Hadleigh Rugby Club for hosting this event and all the HCPS staff for refereeing and helping run the event!
Under 11's Dodgeball Festival
On Friday 18th September, HCPS entered a mixed team into the Pyramid Schools Dodgeball festival at Hadleigh High School.
HCPS played 6 matches, versus Bildeston, Beaumont, St Mary’s, Whatfield, Hintlesham and Kersey!
Congratulations to all our Year 6 Dodgeball players for becoming the overall winners of the festival, managing to win all of their games - a fantastic achievement!
Much fun, aiming, throwing, dodging and working as a team took place during the morning!
Under 11's Girls County Cricket Finals
On Wednesday 1st July 2026, our girls team competed in the Under 11’s Girls Cricket County Finals at Stowupland Cricket Ground. This was the result of the team progressing from the Ipswich Schools finals the week before.
There were 5 schools that had made it to this stage of the competition. The other 4 teams that competed were St John’s (Ipswich), Paddocks (Newmarket), St Louis (Bury St. Edmunds) and Sidegate (Ipswich). During the morning, the girls had to play each of the other competing schools. The girls followed their fine form from last week’s Ipswich School festival and played brilliantly, managing to win 2 out of 4 of their matches.
This resulted in our girls finishing third overall in the county and were awarded prizes & certificates. Well done girls, an amazing achievement!
Under 11's Girls Cricket
On Friday 12th June 2026, Hadleigh competed in the Under 11’s Girls Cricket Festival at Ransomes Sports Ground, Ipswich. There were 6 schools that took part in total. The other 6 teams that took part were Dale Hall, St John’s, Henley, Colneis and Britannia.
During the morning, the girls batted brilliantly, which was followed up with accurate bowling and some tidy fielding. After an excellent display from the girls all morning, Hadleigh finished runners up overall!
This meant HCPS have qualified for the county finals!
Well done Year 6 girls!
Under 11's Mixed Cricket
On Tuesday 9th June 2026, Hadleigh entered 2 teams to compete in the Under 11’s Mixed Cricket Festival at Ransomes Sports Ground, Ipswich.
There were 9 schools that took part in total.
The other teams were: Britannia, St. Mary’s (Woodbridge), St. Johns (Ipswich), Cedarwood, Dale Hall, Henley, Colneis.
Over the course of the morning, our Year 5 & 6's batted brilliantly, which was followed up with accurate bowling and some tidy fielding. After an excellent display from the boys all morning, Hadleigh sky blues managed to finish third overall and Hadleigh navy blues came 5th overall.
Well done Year 5 & 6, a fantastic achievement!
Year 6 Rounders Tournament 2026
All Year 6 pupils took part in a competitive year group rounders tournament each afternoon during SATS week. They were put into 6 teams, playing against each other once, with 2 innings. 323.5 rounders were scored by all the teams during the week! Much fun and laughter was had by all.
The overall winners were the ‘Red, Shoulders, Knees & Toes’ wearing red bibs. Runners up were ‘The Oreo's’ wearing orange bibs and third place were ‘Tough Cookie's’ in pink bibs.
Well done to all Year 6 for such a fantastic tournament!
Under 11's Mixed Swimming Gala
On Tuesday 21st April 2026, HCPS took part the Hadleigh Schools Under 11’s Swimming Gala at Hadleigh Leisure Centre. There were a total of 7 schools that entered the competition altogether. Each school competed in backstroke, freestyle, breaststroke and relay races.
Throughout the morning, the atmosphere that all the children created inside the Leisure Centre was amazing. As a result of our team swimming brilliantly, we managed to win the event overall and were awarded the winners trophy and certificates for all. Well done!
Under 7's Multiskills Festival
On Friday 17th April 2026, we took 24 pupils from Year 2 to participate in the Hadleigh Pyramid Schools Under 7’s Multiskills Festival at Hadleigh High School, with all of the local pyramid schools. Within this festival, the children took part in 8 different events.
Some of these activities included javelin throw, egg and spoon races, mini hurdles, hoop challenge, skittles, over & under, tennis ball tilt and football dribble. All the children had a great time and thoroughly enjoyed their morning. Well done to all our Year 2 team, and Hadleigh High School for arranging this fantastic event!
Under 11's Boys South-East England Regional Football Finals
HCPS have flown the flag wonderfully for Suffolk FA, after becoming Suffolk champions we went on to the South-East England Regional Football Finals at Sporting Thamesmead on Thursday 26th March 2026.
HCPS were placed in a tough group with the winners from Middlesex, Kent and Surrey. We drew 0-0 against Glebe (Middlesex FA), beat Warren Road (Kent FA) 1-0 , and lost to Corpus Christi (Surrey FA) 1-0, finishing 2nd in our group.
The team enjoyed the day by travelling together on a team bus, the standard of this event was extremely high - A fantastic achievement, well done all!
Under 9's, 10's & 11's Cross Country
On Wednesday 25th March 2026, we took 48 boys & girls to compete in the Year 4, 5 & 6 Cross Country festival at Royal Hospital School.
There were around 150-200 pupils that took part in each of the 6 races. During the afternoon, all of our Year 4, 5 & 6 pupils had to run 2200m which was just over a mile long!
During the afternoon, we managed 1 First place, 2 Second places and 2 Third places, whom all received medals and goodie bags!
Every pupil ran fantastically, with some outstanding results, something they should be proud of – Well done Years 4, 5 & 6, what an achievement!
Under 11's Swimming Gala
On Friday 20th March 2026, HCPS took part the Ipswich & South Suffolk Under 11’s Schools Swimming Gala at Crown Pools Ipswich. There were a total of 14 schools that entered the competition altogether.
Each school took part in front crawl, backstroke, freestyle, breaststroke and relay races.
Throughout the afternoon, the atmosphere that all the children created inside the venue was amazing. As a result of our team swimming brilliantly, we managed to finish 1st overall, bringing the trophy back to Hadleigh, well done all!
Under 11's Gym Competition
On Wednesday 18th March 2026, HCPS took 8 teams which included 32 pupils from Years 2, 3, 4, 5 & 6 to the Hadleigh Stars Gymnastics Competition.
The pupils took part in vault and floor routines, with some of the teams achieving top placings in their age group amongst the 16 teams in competition:
Year 2: 3rd place
Year 3 & 4: 1st place
Year 5 & 6: Two 2nd places in different competitions
We are very proud of their performances and hard work training for these events!
Under 8's Girls Football Festival
On Friday 6th March 2026, HCPS entered two Year 2/3 teams in the Under 8’s Girls Football Festival at Ipswich Hockey Club. There were over 30 schools that took part in the event.
Our teams played lots of games, against many schools from across the Ipswich and Woodbridge areas. Both of the teams played brilliantly throughout the afternoon and had a great time! This was the first experience of playing small-sided team games for many of our girls, a fantastic effort by all!
