Year 6 Dodgeball

On Friday 20th September, HCPS entered 2 teams into the Pyramid Schools Dodgeball festival at Hadleigh High School.

Both teams played 3 matches each, versus Bildeston, Beaumont & Whatfield.

Congratulations to all our Year 6 Dodgeball players with HCPS Sky team winners and HCPS Navy team coming runners up, a fantastic achievement!

Much fun and laughter was had by all! 


Lunchtime Football Club - Y6 vs Staff!

On Thursday 18th July 2024, Year 6 had their last Lunchtime Football club, this time versus Staff and Year 5.

Full-time: 1 - 1
Year 6 win 3 - 2 on penalties!

Great memories on our School Field, and much fun was had by all!


Under 9's Boys Football Festival

On Monday 10th June 2024, HCPS entered a Year 3 team into the Under 9’s Boys Football Festival at St. Joseph's College. There were 35 teams that took part in the event.

Our team played 10 games, against many schools from across the Ipswich and South Suffolk area. The team played brilliantly throughout the afternoon and had a great time! The boys managed to win 8 games and draw 2, a fantastic effort by all!

Thanks to Suffolk FA and the Ipswich and South Suffolk School Games partnership for organising this wonderful afternoon!


Under 11's Girls Cricket

On Thursday 6th June 2024, Hadleigh competed in the Under 11’s Girls Cricket Festival at Ransomes Sports Ground, Ipswich. There were 7 schools that took part in total. The other 6 teams that took part were Dale Hall, St John’s, Morland, East Bergholt, Henley and St Mary’s Woodbridge.

During the morning, the girls batted brilliantly, which was followed up with accurate bowling and some tidy fielding. After an excellent display from the girls all morning, Hadleigh managed to win all 3 of their group games, resulting in them reaching the final, and narrowly losing to St. John's.

By reaching the final, this meant HCPS have qualified for the county finals!
Well done Year 6 girls!


Under 11's Boys Cricket

On Tuesday 4th June 2024, Hadleigh entered 2 teams to compete in the Under 11’s Mixed Cricket Festival at Ransomes Sports Ground, Ipswich.
There were 11 schools that took part in total. The other teams were: Colneis, Britannia, St. Mary's (Woodbridge), Bawsey, St. Johns (Ipswich), Cedarwood, East Bergholt, Morland and Woodbridge.
Over the course of the morning, the boys batted brilliantly, which was followed up with accurate bowling and some tidy fielding. After an excellent display from the boys all morning, Hadleigh blues managed to finish runners-up in their group and Hadleigh whites won their group, resulting in them going through to the County Finals – Well done Year 6 Boys, a fantastic achievement!


Under 7's Multiskills Festival

On Friday 24th May 2024, we took 20 pupils from Year 2 to participate in the Hadleigh Pyramid Schools Under 7’s Multiskills Festival at Hadleigh High School, with all of the local pyramid schools. Within this festival, the children took part in 8 different events.

Some of these activities included javelin throw, egg and spoon races, mini hurdles, hoop challenge, skittles, over & under, tennis ball tilt and football dribble. All the children had a great time and thoroughly enjoyed their morning. Well done to all our Year 2 team, and Hadleigh High School for arranging this fantastic event!


Year 6 Rounders Tournament 2024

All Year 6 pupils took part in a competitive inter-year group rounders tournament each afternoon during SATS week. They were put into 6 teams, playing against each other once, with 2 innings. 237.5 rounders were scored by all the teams during the week! Much fun and laughter was had by all.

The overall winners were the 'Appleberries' wearing blue bibs. Runners up were 'Ipswich Rounders' wearing red bibs and third place were 'Hit & Run' in green bibs.

Well done to all Year 6 for such a fantastic tournament!


Under 9's Mini-Tennis Festival

On Friday 10th May 2024, we entered 2 teams into the Under 9’s Tennis Festival at Hadleigh High School. There were 8 teams in total that took part. The other 6 schools competing were: Bildeston (2 teams), Whatfield, Elmsett, St.Mary's and Beaumont. Lots of matches were played during the morning. Each game lasted approximately 4 minutes. After some excellent on-court performances from all the players, our 2 teams managed to finish 1st and 3rd overall. Well done Year 4, an excellent achievement.


Under 9's Dodgeball Finals

Congratulations to our Under 9’s Mixed Dodgeball team, who were the bronze medallists out of the 12 competing schools in the County dodgeball finals, at Ipswich School Sports Centre on Friday 26th April 2024.

We managed to win our group games against Combs Ford & Nayland, sending us through into the finals group against Morland, Sebert Wood, and Grove. From this we were placed third overall! Much fun was had by all.

Congratulations on a fantastic achievement!


Under 11's Quadkids Festival

On Friday 26th April 2024, we took two Year 5 teams to compete in the Under 11’s Quadkids Festival at Hadleigh High School. There were 6 teams in total that took part. The other schools competing were: Bildeston, Whatfield, St. Mary’s and Beaumont.

Each participant took part in a 50 metre sprint, a 600 metre run, a standing long jump and a vortex throw. Every pupils’ score was recorded and calculate into points for that event. Once every pupil had competed in every event, all the scores were added together. After some excellent performances on the track and field, our Year 5 white team managed to finish 1st overall , and our blue team second. This was a fantastic achievement by them all!

A great event and one we look forward to taking part in next year. Well done Year 5!


Under 7's Dodgeball Festival

On Tuesday 16th April 2024, we entered a team into the Under 7’s Dodgeball Festival at Inspire Suffolk. There were a total of 10 teams that had entered this event. The other schools included: Fairfield, Heath, Kyson, St. Mark's, Rendlesham, Sidegate, Bucklesham, St. John's and St. Mary's Ipswich.

Throughout the afternoon the children played numerous games, having much fun throwing, dodging and catching! Hadleigh managed to win their group, going through into the final, and narrowly lost to Sidegate, resulting in us being the runners up!

Well done to our Year 2 team, on a fantastic achievement!


Under 9, 10 & 11's Cross Country

On Wednesday 20th March 2024, we took 40 boys & girls to compete in the Year 4, 5 & 6 Cross Country festival at Royal Hospital School.

There were around 150 pupils that took part in each of the 6 races. During the afternoon, all of our Year 4, 5 & 6 pupils had to run 2200m which was just over a mile long!

Congratulations to:

Year 4 boys who were first out of 27 schools
Year 4 girls who were second out of 21 schools
Year 5 boys who were eighth out of 25 schools
Year 5 girls who were first out of 24 schools
Year 6 boys who were seventeenth out of 24 schools
Year 6 girls who were first out of 22 schools

Every pupil ran fantastically and something they should be proud of – Well done Years 4, 5 & 6, what an achievement!


Trampolining

On Friday 15th March 2024, we took 9 Year 5 pupils to Hadleigh High School, who took part in a range of trampoline activities by Sarah Clarke (Head of High School PE).

The children thoroughly enjoyed using a full-size trampoline to demonstrate their skills! Much fun was had by all during the visit!


Under 8 Girls Football Festival

On Wednesday 6th March 2024, HCPS entered four Year 2/3 teams in the Under 8’s Girls Football Festival at ITFC. There were 24 teams that took part in the event.

Our teams played 6 games each, against many schools from across the Ipswich, Woodbridge and Felixstowe areas. All the teams played brilliantly throughout the afternoon and had a great time! This was the first experience of playing small-sided team games for many of our girls, a fantastic effort by all!

Under 11's Dodgeball Festival

On Tuesday 30th January 2024, we entered two teams into the Under 11’s Dodgeball Festival at Ipswich School. There were a total of 12 teams that had entered this event. Both Hadleigh teams managed to win all their group games, against Dale Hall, Grundisburgh, Sproughton, Grange, Gorseland, Bealings, Tattingstone, St. Mary's Ipswich & St. Mary's Woodbridge.

The pupils were extremely excited to be wearing our new school sports team kits!

All children received certificates for their hard work, much dodging, throwing, aiming and fun was had by all, well done!
