Under 9's Dodgeball festival

On Tuesday 15th November 2023, we entered 2 teams into the Under 9’s Ipswich area Dodgeball Festival at Inspire Suffolk. There were a total of 16 schools that entered this event. Both HCPS teams played 7 league fixtures each during the afternoon. From both teams results, they managed to reach the Semi-Finals.
From the Semi-Finals, 1 Hadleigh team managed to finish the competition 2nd overall, and the other 3rd overall, from the 16 competing schools.
As a result of this HCPS have progressed through to the County Dodgeball finals in Bury St. Edmunds during April 2024.
This was a fantastic achievement from the boys and girls, much dodging, throwing, aiming and fun was had by all, well done!
Under 11's & Under 9's Tag Rugby Festival

On Friday the 10th November 2023, HCPS took 36 children to participate in the Hadleigh High School Year 4 & 6 Tag Rugby festival at Hadleigh High School. Teams from Bildeston, St Mary’s, Beaumont and Hintlesham also took part. An excellent morning was had by all our pupils. Lots of tagging, running, dodging and scoring trys was on show by all.

Under 8's Girls Football Festival
On Tuesday 7th November 2023, HCPS entered four Year 2/3 teams in the Under 8’s Girls Football Festival at ITFC. There were 24 teams that took part in the event.
Our teams played 9 games each, against many schools from across the Ipswich, Woodbridge and Felixstowe areas. All the teams played brilliantly throughout the afternoon and had a great time! This was the first experience of playing small-sided team games for many of our girls, a fantastic effort by all!

Under 11's Girls Football Festival
On Tuesday 17th October 2023, Hadleigh CPS entered 2 teams in the Under 11’s Girls Football Festival at Whitton Sports Centre. There were a total of 12 schools that took part in the event. Hadleigh had a Year 5 team in group 1 & a Year 6 team in group 2, where we played matches against Colneis, Claydon, Henley, St Mary's (Woodbridge), East Bergholt, St John's (Ipswich), Morland, Beeches and Cedarwood.
Both HCPS teams won their respective groups, which meant that Hadleigh played each other in the grand final! After normal time and extra time, the game finished 0-0 resulting in both teams being awarded joint winners.
This was an amazing achievement by all the girls, demonstrating fantastic skills and ability throughout the mornings games. Well done!

Under 9's & Under 11's Cross Country

On Friday 6th October 2023, we took part in the Under 9’s and Under 11’s Boys & Girls Cross Country festival at Hadleigh High School. There were 7 other schools participating in this competition. The other schools were Whatfield, Bildeston, St. Marys, Beaumont, Elmsett, Kersey and Hintlesham. During the morning, all of our pupils had to run 1600m which was just short of a mile. There were 4 races in total. An Under 11’s Boys race, an Under 11’s Girls race, an Under 9’s Boys race and finally an Under 9’s Girls race. Every pupil ran fantastically. After the scores were totaled up HCPS won the Under 9's Boys, Under 9's Girls and Under 11's Girls categories, with the Under 11's Boys coming runners up. Well done to the all the runners who raced!
Under 11's Football

On Thursday 5th October 2023, HCPS took a Year 5 and Year 6 team to compete in the Under 11’s Football Festival at Whitton Sports Centre. There were a total of 16 schools from across the Ipswich area that took part in the event. Hadleigh played matches against Woodbridge, Gusford, Cedarwood, Broke Hall, St Matthew's, St John's, and Colneis. Both teams played some excellent football during the morning, with excellent attacking and defending skills. From the many games, we won some, lost some and had a few draws. Well done for proudly representing HCPS, and for showing an outstanding attitude and effort towards School Sport.
Year 5 & 6 Tag Rugby World Cup Tournament
On Tuesday 3rd October 2023, Year 5 & 6 pupils took part in our own Tag Rubgy World Cup Competition. The pupils had been learning Tag Rugby during weekly PE lessons. Attacking, tagging, throwing, receiving, dodging, weaving and scoring tries have all been developed.
There were 2 competitions.
In competition number 1, winners were England (Pink Team), 2nd was Fiji (Purple Team), 3rd New Zealand (Black team) and 4th, Ireland (Green team).
In competition number 2, winners were France (Blue Team), 2nd was Japan (Yellow Team), 3rd Wales (Red team) and 4th, South Africa (Orange team).
The pupils thouroughly enjoyed showing their talents to all the teachers that came down to support the event, well done for your excellent hard work!

Year 6 Dodgeball
Congratulations to all our Year 6 Dodgeball players who participated in the Hadleigh High School Primary Partnership.
HCPS Sky team were runners up with HCPS Navy team coming third overall.

Under 11's County Cricket Finals

On Monday 19th June 2023, our boys team competed in the Under 11’s Boys Cricket County Finals at Ransomes Sports Ground, Ipswich. This was the result of the team progressing from the Ipswich Schools finals. There were 12 schools that had made it to this stage of the competition.
In the group stage, we beat St. Boltoph's (Diss), and Lakenheath to progress to the Semi-Finals where we beat St. John's (Ipswich). In the Final we narrowly lost to St. Mary's (Mildenhall)
Once again, the boys batted, bowled and fielded to a high level to become County runners-up is a fantastic achievement well done all!
Under 11's Girls Cricket Festival

On Thursday 8th June 2023, Hadleigh competed in the Under 11’s Girls Cricket Festival at Ransomes Sports Ground, Ipswich. There were 6 schools that took part in total. The other 5 teams that took part were Dale Hall, St John's, Morland, Castle Hill and St Mary's Woodbridge.
During the morning, the girls batted brilliantly, which was followed up with accurate bowling and some tidy fielding. After an excellent display from the girls all morning, Hadleigh managed to win 1 match and lose 1 match. This meant they then had to play in a play-off for third-place, against Dale Hall. HCPS came out victorious! That victory meant that they finished third overall. Well done Year 6 girls!
Under 11's Boys Cricket Festival

On Wednesday 7th June 2023, Hadleigh competed in the Under 11’s Mixed Cricket Festival at Ransomes Sports Ground, Ipswich. There were 5 schools that took part in total. The other teams were: Shotley, Castle Hill, Dale Hall and East Bergholt. Over the course of the morning, the boys batted brilliantly, which was followed up with accurate bowling and some tidy fielding. After an excellent display from the boys all morning, Hadleigh managed to finish runners-up overall which was a fantastic achievement, putting us through to the County Finals - Well done Year 6 Boys!
Under 11's Netball Festival

On Thursday 25th May 2023, Hadleigh took a team to compete in the Under 11’s Netball Festival at Ipswich School, Rushmere. There were 6 schools that competed in total. The other teams were: East Bergholt, Gusford, Claydon, Bealings and Broke Hall. Over the course of the afternoon, we played each team, in a 12 minute match. This was a bee netball festival which meant after every 6 mins, the children would rotate positions on the court, meaning that everybody had the chance to play in defence, centre and in attack. Hadleigh managed to win 3 games and lose 2 games, resulting in them finishing 3rd overall. Well done all, a fantastic effort!
Under 11's Multi-Skills Festival

On Friday 19th May, we took over 20 pupils from Year 5 to participate in the Hadleigh Pyramid Schools Under 11’s Multi-Skills Festival at Hadleigh High School. Within this festival, the children took part in 7 different events. All the children had a great time and thoroughly enjoyed their morning.
Well done to 4 of our pupils, who were in the winning team. The teams were mixed between all the local Pyramid Schools, and everyone received participation certificates. Thanks to Hadleigh High School for arranging this fantastic event!
Year 6 Rounders Tournament 2023


All Year 6 pupils took part in a competitive rounders tournament each afternoon during SATS week. They were put into 6 teams, playing against each other once, with 2 innings. 317 rounders were scored by all the teams during the week! Much fun and laughter was had by all.
The overall winners were the Quangle Dangles wearing blue bibs. Well done to all Year 6 for such a fantastic tournament!
